ABOUT US

The Cape Town Vespa Club was founded in 1957 and is one of the oldest Motorcycle clubs in South Africa. Vespas were very popular in South Africa in the 50's and sixties, with rallies taking place all over South Africa. Clubs were established in different cities and a Vespa was the item to own. This unfortunately seemed to fade away in the late 70's with the competition growing bigger and lifestyles moving faster.

The Clubs all seemed to disappear until now. Today the club is growing again with a current membership of +/- 35 members, old and young, ugly and beautiful, black, green and blue and we try to provide an environment for people with an interest in Vespa scooters, to share that with fellow Vespa riders. We also strive to uphold the tradition of Vespa scootering.

The Club is also affiliated to the FIV (Federation Internationale Vespa Clubs)

The FIV is the governing body of all Vespa clubs around the world and plays an active role in upholding the Tradition. www.vespafiv.org

Vespas are indeed becoming popular in the 20th century and stories are being told of the Rallies and adventures on Vespas of the old days. Young and old are rejoining the club to experience the Vespa first hand.

Thank you for visiting our Site - we hope you enjoy the visit and hopefully we will see you at our next ride!!
